"NEVER DOUBT THAT A SMALL GROUP OF THOUGHTFUL, COMMITTED, CITIZENS CAN CHANGE THE WORLD. INDEED, IT IS THE ONLY THING THAT EVER HAS." - MARGARET MEAD

CARLY GRECO, MSW, RSW

Hi, Iā€™m Carly!

I am so glad that you are taking this step for yourself, and I am honoured that you are visiting this page to learn a bit more about me, and about my approach.

I am a cis-gender woman and settler on the Haldimand Tract. I grew up in northern Ontario and have called Waterloo Region home for over two decades. I believe strongly in the power that relationships, connection, and community play in our mental wellness. I began my career in community organizing and I have over a decade of experience working with individuals, families, and groups through counselling, system navigation, and advocacy in public and nonprofit settings.

I am a Registered Social Worker, and am deeply informed by my feminist values. I will work with you to co-create a space where you can explore your story, experiences, goals, and values with openness and curiosity. I practice from a trauma-informed, holistic perspective, which means working with you to find approaches that feel best for your individual circumstances and self. I draw on training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-focused therapy, Brief therapies, and Narrative therapy, and am informed by feminist and social justice principles. I have particular interest and experience in perinatal mental health: working with pregnant individuals through all pregnancy outcomes and experiences.

I hold a Bachelor of Humanities and a Master of Arts from Carleton University, and Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University. I have additional training in perinatal mental health and psychotherapy from Postpartum Support International (PSI), and in death, dying and bereavement from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Outside of working with clients, you can often find me cycling or hiking around Kitchener, learning to be a better baker, or lost in a good book.
