Pay In Kindness - FAQ
How many counselling sessions do I qualify for?
Program participants will qualify for a total of eight counselling sessions. Each session is 50 minutes in length.
Can I continue to meet with my counsellor after I have used my eight program sessions?
Following the use of the eight program sessions, program participant’s can continue to meet with their counsellor at the standard individual rate of $165 per session.
Do the counselling sessions have an expiry date?
Following the date of their first appointment, program participants will have one year to utilise the eight allotted counselling sessions.
How much will I have to pay?
The Pay in Kindness program is designed to cover up to 85% of session costs for up to eight sessions. With individual counselling rates set at $165 per session, participants are required to pay $20.25* out of pocket for each of the eight sessions, in which all proceeds will be put back into our Pay in Kindness program.
*If $20.25 doesn’t feel accessible, we still encourage you to apply and make mention of this. We never want cost to be a barrier for mental wellness.
Do I get to choose my counsellor?
While the selection committee will certainly take client preferences into account, the final decision as to which counsellor each participant is paired with is based on the following: (1) therapeutic needs and goals and, (2) the current availability of each counsellor.
Can I transfer any unused sessions to family members or friends?
The eight allotted sessions cannot under any circumstances be transferred to other people.
What if I miss one of my scheduled sessions?
Any missed or cancelled appointments will be subject to Exhale Therapy’s standard cancellation guidelines and will be rendered as one of the participants eight allotted sessions within the program. Click here for more information on fees and cancellations.
Is my involvement in the program confidential?
The application process is completely confidential. Participation within the Pay in Kindness program will be made known to members of the selection committee, the administrative team at Exhale Therapy, as well as the participant’s counsellor. Do I have to provide proof of income?
