CHLOE DEMERS (SHE/HER), STUDENT INTERN
welcome, I’m Chloe!
I congratulate you on bravely taking the first step of this understandably nerve-wracking but exciting journey of receiving support through therapy. You are more than welcome here. As a dedicated and compassionate student intern, I am committed to supporting individuals on their path toward embracing their true selves through processing and healing. I believe that you know yourself best and that every individual has the potential for personal growth and transformation. My goal is to meet you where you are currently at, supporting you in gaining insight into yourself and what you want most in and out of life.
My approach to therapy is exploratory, client-centred, and strength-based. I strive to create a warm, accepting, safe space where you feel heard, respected and seen. I bring a trauma-informed, attachment-based, intersectional lens to my practice and use an integrative approach. I draw from various modalities, including Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) and Existential Therapy. I also aspire to incorporate creativity into my sessions. During our time together, I will work collaboratively with you to explore your strengths and current challenges while meeting your individual needs and preferences.
I hold a Bachelor of Applied Science in Child, Youth and Family with a minor in Psychology from the University of Guelph. I am currently completing my Masters in Psychotherapy at Wilfrid Laurier University.
In my free time, you can find me reading, immersing myself in nature, staying active (volleyball enthusiast), discovering new cafes, and hanging out with loved ones. I love watching reality tv, learning, and exploring our world. I would be honoured to walk alongside you on your wellness journey.
