“WE RISE BY LIFTING OTHERS.” - ROBERT INGERSOLL

ILONA FARRY (SHE/HER), STUDENT INTERN

Hi, I’m Ilona!

I want to celebrate you for being here and making your wellbeing a priority.

Healing is hard work. It is not linear. It can be messy and challenging and leave you feeling all the feels. I truly believe that no one should have to do it alone, and value the importance of holding space for people along their journey.  The space to understand how your experiences have influenced you and discover ways to navigate challenges no matter how big or small. When we have support in exploring what is hurting, we can find possibility in living a life that is authentic, inspired and makes us feel good.

As a counselor, I am passionate about using an integrative approach that is client- centered, inclusive, trauma informed and culturally sensitive. I work to create a safe and empathetic space where clients feel heard and understood, tailoring interventions to meet the unique needs and goals of each client. I value collaboration and growth, integrating various modalities to facilitate insight, growth, and resilience. I am personally committed to offering a practice which embodies a philosophy that encompasses mental, physical, and spiritual health, equipping people with the tools necessary to heal themselves. My compassionate and trauma informed approach encourages clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors with curiosity and openness, empowering them to cultivate self-awareness and make meaningful changes in their lives.

I’ve always been a lifelong learner, adding to my knowledge and practice through experience and education. I hold a bachelors of arts in psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University and am completing my masters in counseling psychology from Yorkville University. As well, I have done numerous courses in business, am a non practicing registered holistic nutritionist, and have certificates in trauma-informed work, reiki, aromatherapy, crystal healing, shadow work and spiritual coaching. My own journey has taken me through roles in human resources, accounting, retail management and entrepreneurship while I nurtured a growing family at home. In my free time, you can find me spending time with my favourite people, in my gardens, crafting natural self care products, enjoying music and books, making art, or taking in the beauty of the world through walks, hikes and traveling.

Whether counseling is new to you or already part of your path, I am honoured to join you on this journey. I’m looking forward to supporting you on your way to empowerment and wellbeing, and am grateful you are here.
