RACHEAL KENWORTHY, MSW, RSW
Hi, I’m Racheal!
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by my bio, you are very welcome here.
As a Registered Social Worker, I have experience in counselling youth in frontline outreach settings as well as in providing counselling to individuals with complex intersectional concerns (e.g. mental health, service barriers, family conflict, relationship conflict, safety concerns, transience, violence, and trauma). I have several years of experience in social service settings, primarily within non-profit and charitable organizations that support families, children and youth with access to community resources, direct experience in schools, and with individuals and families who have experience with family violence and intimate partner violence.
I work from an anti-oppressive and trauma-informed perspective. Cultivating a safe, inclusive and creative space of healing and growth, my soul motivation is to empower both individuals and families on their journey towards mental wellness.
Drawing from a wide range of therapeutic modalities, I encourage self-expression as a vital means of healing. Honouring the unique learning, processing, and sensory experiences of each person, I believe that personal passions and lived experiences are an integral part of the therapeutic process. Session work usually involves a combination of talking, activities, projects, music, movement and more.
Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy creating multi-media art and educational virtual content and resources. I believe in taking care of myself and practicing self care in order to better help support others, so I often meditate, tend to my ever-expanding tropical plant collection, and spend time with my adorable cats who are great listeners!
Thank you for getting to know a bit about me.
